Post-apocalyptic journal... when the world ended

0813 D-Day:
So far so good. Everything is frozen like day after tomorrow. Have yet to encounter the cold spots that make you freeze instantly so I'm assuming we're good for now. Cranked my heater just in case. Food stores are getting low so I know I will have to brave the cold soon but hopefully we can make it another day assuming there is another day after this. Do not lose hope friends! There will be a tomorrow! We WILL MAKE it through this!

0917 D-Day:
Internet went out. Was worried my link to the outside world was permanently severed. After thirty seconds of pure terror it returned without ceremony. To welcome my long lost friend I give you another update of my survival. No matter what terrible things await us during these trying times we will push through. Although I'm not sure how it can get any worse.

1015 D-Day:
Things continue to get worse. My anime is no longer watchable. The end times are coming in the form of parsing errors. I screamed in frustration while my children cried. Hard times have surely come. The future is beginning to look bleak. But fear not! I have recently acquired new manga in my travels. Although it's an outdated form of entertainment the fact that the pictures don't move is only a small setback. We will find a way to carry on!

1115 D-Day:
One of my fellow survivors, Elaina, has finally cracked. I don't think she can take the horrors anymore. She's taken to drinking from a bottle to ease her worries but I'm hoping she learns its not the answer. I'm trying to soothe her the best I can and advised her to try to get some rest while I stand watch. All we can do is stay huddled together for now until she falls asleep. Maybe when she wakes she'll find new hope.

1215 D-Day:
The sirens have gone off. I hear them every day but today it just sounds ominous. It's about time I should prepare today's midday rations. Although there's just two of us left I figured I should put up the pretenses of normalcy. I must remain strong for her until David comes back from his hunt. He says he knows of a place where there's hundreds of pigs and can infiltrate it easily, I've never been there but I trust he'll bring home a decent share. The roads are treacherous so I can only hope he's safe during his dangerous journey.

1315 D-Day:
My sister was able to somehow get a message to me. It's good to know there are other survivors out there. She talked about how things used to be before we were ripped apart by the end times and she hopes we can meet again in another life. Maybe we'll be reborn as pandas. I hope you're right Jessi and I hope you're safe wherever you are. I miss you guys. Stay warm, stay healthy, and stay safe we will be together again someday.

1415 D-Day:
We had another survivor returned to us by a group of nomads wandering through. My daughter went out to see what she could learn and she returned from a small group taking refuge in the school. They have all moved on and returned to their families sooner than normally would have been possible. They exchanged supplies today and she brought a small hairbrush, a couple of small notebooks, writing utensils, and some non-nutritious food and has been distributing it amongst the colony. It may not be much but it will go a long way in her survival. Thank you to the person who gave up those necessities for her enjoyment.

1515 D-Day:
My mate has returned to me victorious in his spoils. He returned telling stories of slaying the mighty beasts and nursing others to health. He has told me of his intentions to keep them contained until they are ready for reaping. It's a great plan to let them spawn and flourish so there is plenty to eat. He has made an agreement with another group for care and protection so others don't take advantage. I'm just glad he's home so he can be safe and help me with maintaining the colony.

1615 D-Day:
Our youngest member went into the restricted area and was forcibly removed by David. The room was deemed too dangerous for our younger colonists and publicly deemed off limits. Ever since then she's been back to her old habits and acting out. Earlier she was found throwing rice despite the fact there is nothing to celebrate. Her and Kairi have been finding ways to disrupt the colony and any action to restrain has failed. I wonder what was in those non-nutritious foods.

1715 D-Day:
There has been some discourse between colonists regarding rations. There have been discussions about distribution and quality. One of us has been spotted stealing with no regards to the others. We must come to an agreement soon or I fear someone will be sent out to brave the apocalypse in search of more. Hopefully I can find something more readily available that will please the others.

1803 D-Day:
All is quiet in the colony for a few blessed moments. A rare moment where we all believe life will go on. These are the moments I will cherish at the final hour, the true end..

1915 D-Day:
While preparing for our nightly cleansing ritual we had a disagreement. Some believe we should try a more traditional approach while I on the other hand am firmly set in the modern in this instance. Some believe it isn't necessary at all. Although it's been difficult maintaining a decent hot and cold balance I think I was successful. There is so much preparing to be done for something so simple in these post-apocalyptic times.

2015 D-Day:
The dangers and hardships of the day are finally over. But we cannot rest for the night carries its own...
